In Minnesota, growing up playing hockey means growing up dreaming of State Tournament glory. Dream State provides fans and viewers with an all-access view as high school hockey players, teams and communities, all chase a State Tournament title. This season, Dream State returns to the metro area to follow the Shakopee Sabres lead by head coach Calvin Simon. With an emerging high school program facing off in one of the most competitive sections in the State, captains Cooper Simpson and Carson Steinhoff set their sights on Saint Paul, in an attempt to overshadow the only state tournament appearance in program history, back in 2005. Viewers are invited to skate with the team through the ups and downs of the 2024-25 season, from division rivalries to home ice on Hockey Day Minnesota, the journey to Saint Paul is sure to be a long and arduous road, delivered in cinematic 4k resolution.

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is something to be said about a town on the southwest edge of the metro, across the Minnesota River, that makes it feel like a far away place, but the Shakopee Sabers are no longer being overlooked, and their ascent to excellence is happening right now. Built upon a positive mindset and discipline, The Sabers are beginning to emerge as a state contender under the guidance of Head Coach Calvin Simon. With on-ice leadership from North Dakota commit, Cooper Simpson, and vet captain Carson Steinhof, the foundation is set, and they are focused on the ultimate goal of winning a state championship in Saint Paul. It doesn’t matter if the battle is one shift against a teammate during practice, or a state tournament bout against a heavyweight rival, the simple basis is hockey players are competitors, and losing is never an option. The Shakopee Sabers have been handed some lessons early in the season, but they’ve learned from them, and now they’re dialed in, as they hunt for their first state tournament banner in school history. All the battles fought on the pond and rinks of youth, paves the way to the biggest stage in high school sports.
