He attended Stanford University, where he played rugby and majored in Biology. Dr. Davies attended UCLA Medical School, and he subsequently completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery also at UCLA, including a dedicated research year. He has published articles in a number of orthopedic journals as well as presented at national meetings.

Following his time at UCLA, Dr. Davies completed a yearlong fellowship with Dr. James Andrews. During his year with Dr. Andrews, he cared for professional athletes from the NHL, NFL, MLB, and NBA. Upon returning to the Bay Area, Dr. Davies joined Kaiser Permanente, where he has served as a sports medicine specialist. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in addition to having a Subspecialty Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine. He is currently the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Kaiser Permanente San Jose.

Aug 22, 2023 Scott Crow, MD Dr. Crow is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with added subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Following medical school, he completed a five-year residency in orthopaedic surgery at UCLA.

Dr. Crow then pursued additional sub-specialty training in arthroscopy and sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles. As a fellow, Dr. Crow assisted in the care of many athletes, including the Anaheim Ducks, LA Kings, LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, LA Angels of Anaheim, and the LA Sparks. In addition to his current work with the San Jose Sharks, Dr. Crow cares for athletes from a number of local high schools and colleges.

Dr. Crow is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is currently Assistant Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Kaiser Permanente San Jose.

Aug 22, 2023 AJ Uy, MD Dr. Uy is a board certified family medicine physician. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and went to Wayne State University for his medical school training. He completed his residency training at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Arizona. After residency, he spent time starting a private practice in the Phoenix area and as a clinical instructor for the University of Arizona School of Medicine. He also had the pleasure of practicing medicine on the islands of Oahu and Maui.

Currently, Dr. Uy serves as an Assistant Chief of Adult and Family Medicine at Kaiser Permanente San Jose.

He is also a clinical instructor for Stanford medical students. His current practice encompasses a wide demographic. He sees newborns, geriatric patients, and everyone in between. His love for sports and competition allows him to stay involved with sports medicine and team sports.

Aug 22, 2023 Kenneth Job, MD Dr. Job is a board certified family medicine physician with an added subspecialty certification in primary care sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from UC Davis School of Medicine. Following medical school, he completed a family medicine residency at Long Beach Memorial.

Dr. Job then pursued additional subspecialty training in primary care sports medicine at UC San Diego. As a fellow Dr. Job served as team physician for UC San Diego athletics and also assisted in care for the San Diego Padres as well as their minor league affiliate, Lake Elsinore Storm.

Dr. Job also cared for a number of athletes from numerous high schools. Dr. Job is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He currently practices within the Kaiser San Jose Orthopedics department as a primary care sports medicine physician. In his free time he enjoys being active, live music binging a great tv show, and exploring new food spots.

Feb 12, 2024 Young Yoon, MD Dr. Yoon is a board certified emergency medicine and sports medicine physician. He graduated from Boston University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where he became interested in sports medicine while providing medical care at high school football games.

Following residency, he moved to California to complete a sports medicine fellowship at O'Connor Hospital. There, he worked with the San Jose Sharks and the San Jose SaberCats. He was also a physician for athletics at Menlo College. Dr. Yoon has also provided medical care to athletes at various events, including several NYC marathons, the San Jose Rock 'n' Roll half marathon, the Santa Cruz triathlon, and the Moto GP race series at Laguna Seca. He is currently an attending physician in Emergency Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara.

Aug 22, 2023 David Nix, MD Dr. Nix is a board certified emergency physician with a strong interest in sports medicine and competitive athletics. He grew up an avid skier in New Mexico and Colorado and found his path to medicine through his own athletic pursuits and injuries. He graduated from the Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his residency in the Stanford University/Kaiser Permanente Emergency Medicine Residency Program. After residency, he was an Academic and Administrative Fellow at Stanford. While working as an attending physician in the Stanford Emergency Department, he pursued his interest in sports medicine by assisting the Stanford Athletic Department with pre-participation physicals and providing medical care for NCAA athletes competing in cross country and wrestling.

Dr. Nix joined Kaiser Permanente full time in 2007. While at Kaiser Permanente he has volunteered for medical coverage with the Nike Women's Marathon series in San Francisco. He is currently an attending emergency physician and clinical instructor for the Stanford University/Kaiser Permanente Emergency Medicine Program at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara.

Aug 22, 2023 Katherine Gray, MD Dr. Gray was born in Carmel, CA and moved to the Bay Area in grammar school. She attended Stanford University, where she played rugby and majored in Human Biology. Dr. Gray completed medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles. She did an additional year of sub-specialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Hand Center of San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas with Dr. David Green.

Dr. Gray returned to the Bay Area to join Kaiser Permanente in 2007 and is currently an Assistant Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Kaiser Permanente San Jose. She is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has a Subspecialty Certification in Hand Surgery. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Aug 22, 2023 Steven Spisak, MD Dr. Spisak is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in orthopaedic spine surgery. He is a Bay Area native who received his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He subsequently moved back to the Bay Area where he completed his orthopaedic surgery training and spine surgery fellowship training at Stanford University. He has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2003, where he first helped to establish the spine surgery program in San Diego before moving back to the Bay Area to help expand the regional spine surgery service into San Jose.

He is an avid triathlete, and has been active in sports his entire life, competing in soccer and cross country in college. Over the course of his career, he has had the opportunity to work with athletes from a variety of different sports programs around the Bay Area. In addition to his current work with the San Jose Sharks, he frequently helps care for the Ironman world championship athletes in Kona.

Aug 22, 2023 Kevin Merrill, MD Dr. Merrill is a native of the Bay Area, as he was born and raised in Los Gatos. He received his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University, where he played volleyball and majored in Combined Sciences with minors in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Merrill then attended the UCLA School of Medicine, and subsequently completed his residency in Ophthalmology at UC Davis.

Following residency, he moved to Portland where completed a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the Oregon Health and Sciences University. Upon returning to the Bay Area, Dr. Merrill joined Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is an active member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He currently serves as the Regional Lead of Pediatric Ophthalmology for all of Kaiser Permanente Northern California.

Aug 22, 2023 Todd Hayano, MD Born in Mountain View, CA and raised in the East Bay Area, Dr. Hayano attended college at UC San Diego and earned his degree in Human Biology. He continued on to earn a master’s degree at New York Medical College in Biomedical Sciences. He then completed medical school at Touro University California in Vallejo and went on to do residency at Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. There, he received numerous awards including Resident Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Researcher of the Year. Following residency training, he completed a non-operative sports medicine fellowship with the world-renowned Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. James R. Andrews at the Andrews Institute for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Pensacola, FL. During fellowship, he had an opportunity to treat numerous professional athletes who came from all over the world including athletes from the NHL, NFL, MLB, and NBA as well as evaluated athletes at the 2020 NFL Combine. He also serves as Team Physician for local high schools and was one of the Team Physicians for the 2019 NCAA Division-II National Champion University of West Florida Football Team.

As a fellowship-trained non-operative sports medicine physician, Dr. Hayano specializes in treating patients with various musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries. He has particular interests in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided procedures and regenerative medicine treatments. He has published many research papers in Sports Medicine and Orthobiologic Regenerative Medicine. He is currently a Sports Medicine Physician at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara.
